Taiwan based multinational computer technology and electronics major Acer on Tuesday launched its new Liquid E Ferrari special edition smartphone.
Liquid E Ferrari is Acer’s first Android-based smartphone that supports 3G HSDPA and features a full capacitive 3.5-inch touch screen.
Measuring 115 mm x 64 mm x 12.75 mm, the Acer Liquid E Ferrari has a handy slot for microSD cards and comes with 8GB as standard and can support up to 16GB.Being a special edition, it has Formula 1 themed content from ringtones, screensavers, wallpapers to other widgets.
Acer collaborated with sports car-maker Ferrari to design the smartphone, which uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset, the company said in New Delhi.
“In order to encash the festive mood in India, the phone will be available at Rs 29,999 till Diwali and later on, the price may be revised,” Acer India chief marketing officer S Rajendran said.
The Android Smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel camera, wi-fi and an elite bluetooth headset, which can regulate volume automatically.
These stylish smartphones will be sold through multi-brand consumer durable and electronic shop Chroma. Later on, it will be made available at other outlets as well. The product will be well received across a spectrum of users — professionals, sports enthusiasts, youngsters in all key metro markets like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune etc where Croma has a dominant footprint,’ said Ajit Joshi, chief executive officer and managing director, Infinity Retail Ltd.
